20wk Appt

Went to my OB yesterday for my routine appt. Both boys are doing well-good HB's although Boy A didn't want to cooperate for the u/s as usual lol. The Dr said they are both head down "jockeying for position" I asked him about my weight gain and he said that I'm doing ok(gained 25lbs so far) He said he wasn't really to worried about it because as the pg goes on-I'll likely gain less due to all the pressure on my stomache. I was sent today for my GTT-that was tons of fun :-) The Dr had also mentioned that they repeat it at 28 wks with twins because of the increased risk of GD. Have you all had to do that? Anyways-my appts will start being every 3 wks now with every 6 wk visits to the MFM for growth scans.

I saw a girl that I know today who had twins like 5 or 6 mos ago(I forget) She was telling me all the health issues that she has with her son. She went on to say thay her Dr told her that with twins-theres a good chance one of them will end up developing health problems. She said its usually boys that end up with them because they have weaker immune systems than girls. Now she's got me worried even more, not like I wasn't worried in the first place.

She said she made it to one day shy of 36 wks and was 5cm dilated at that point. I'm glad to hear good stories though-I'll likely just take hers with a grain of salt. :-)

I think everyone's babes are different.
I have Mo/Di twins so I see MFM every 2 wks for scans & just got bumped to every 2 wks for OB.
I still havent had my glucose test, I have it next Fri @ 27 wks.
Do you know what week your friend had her twins. I think it depends a lot of gestational age @ birth as to health.
I have heard boys dont fair as well as girls as preemies.
Im having boys too so I dont believe it :)

Oh my, that's the kind of person to avoid. :-/

My twins are never sick. DS was my first child to need antibiotics, he was two and that was from a freak dental abscess when he cracked a tooth. If her twins were preemies that might explain it but honestly, it's genetics, environment and luck. My advice is to stay away from people like that, twin pregnancies are stressful enough without a Debbie downer for a friend. :-(

My twin boys are very healthy, so please don't let her scare you. I very rarely have to take them to the doctor. There is another set of twin boys in their class that are the pictures of good health also, very athletic. I wonder how many weeks she was able to go with her pregnancy?
