Hi ladies. I know I have been MIA lately... a lot has happened!
I had my 20-wk appt last Thursday (week ago today) and doc said "everything looks perfect!" Then I had a really stressful weekend with my dad having unexpected heart problems and then having to have a heart stent put in, etc. I wasn't really paying much attention to my body, as far as eating, drinking, resting, etc, because of all that was going on. So, I paid the price.
Sunday afternoon I started feeling pelvic pressure that would come and go. I looked it up in Dr Luke's book and it said to call the doc right away, so I called the on-call doc and he asked me to describe the feeling, and then told me to go to L&D at the hospital. So I did, and they hooked me up to a uterine monitor. The nurse said, "You are definitely having contractions. We are going to have to stop those right away." They decided to try IV fluids first thing in case I was just dehydrated, and that really seemed to do the trick. By the 2nd bag of fluids the contractions stopped. So they watched me another hour and then sent me home.
About an hour after we got home, I started having SEVERE nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting everywhere. I have had tons of m/s during this pg, but this was way worse. I felt like my body was completely out of control. So, we called the doc back, and he said to come in and they put in under observation overnight. They gave me some nausea meds and kept me on all sorts of monitors, and everything seemed fine. The next afternoon my regular ob came in and discharged me, with a follow-up appt this morning.
So this morning I went in, they did a regular exam, including ultrasound, and said everything looks good and my cervix is holding steady length around 3.3 cm. And babies look good.
So that was all my excitement... just wanted to "talk" about it I guess... and let everybody know to LISTEN to their bodies, even if something stressful is going on in your life! I definitely don't want to go back to that hospital for at least 16 more weeks!!! Too scary!!!
Hope everybody else has been good!
