Cramping and tightening

ok...so this is my first pregnancy and I have no idea what is normal. I have been feeling some mild cramping and points where it feels like my belly is tightening. Nothing that causes me any pain...but I am trying to decide whether I should be concerned. I have been growing much more this week...so I don't know if it is related to things just stretching out. Is it too early for Braxton-Hicks?

Hi Annie, if you are having twins it's never too early for Braxton Hicks I don't think. I've been having them all along. Also you may be experiencing round ligament pain and just general pain from stretching. Since this is your first pregnancy things are tight in there and haven't been stretched yet. But that being said, ANY time you are concerned call your doctor, don't worry about bugging them or anything, it's better to put your mind at ease than to worry yourself over it. I have called my doctor several times in the last month and gone in for ultrasounds just to make sure all was well when I was cramping. Luckily so far everything has been okay aside from a low lying placenta.

Hope you feel better soon!

I agree, but I'd also add to drink more water when you feel this. I always take that as a sign I need to sit down and drink a big ole glass of water (or two) and then things go back to "normal", whatever that is :)

Wow - a gallon a day by 3T?!?! Goodness - were you in the bathroom every 15 mins or what?! I think I need a bigger bathroom. Just camp out in there, pull in a tv, the kids, some toys, etc!

A whole gallon? Every day? I already drink quite a bit but not nearly that much.
