I have tightening in spots on my belly also but most of it is due to my Little girl pushing her butt out sometimes

I have felt braxton hicks for many weeks now. It could also be the babies pushing out, if it isn't all over your uterus. I wouldn't worry too much, unless they get painful or more regular. Not an enjoyable feeling, but since your uterus is much larger than normal at this stage you probably will get many more of them before you are done!

I started feeling that at about 16 weeks. The doctor said it was likely BH contractions. He told me this is normal to get early with twins. He also said, unless I get 6 in an hour, it shouldn't be any concern. Even if you get more than 6, they call you in to check on your cervix to make sure the contractions aren't early labor. Most often it isn't. They told me sometimes they are a sign that you are not getting enough water, or are doing something a little to stressful. I didn't think I was pushing myself, but now I am trying to think about walking slower and taking my time with things. They have gotten MUCH better. My doctor also said some women feel these more than others...so that is normal too.

Hope this helps!

It could definitely be BH, but you should ask to have your cervix checked via vaginal ultrasound just to be sure.

The Dr. thought it was BH as well. He said to take it easy and to drink lots of water. Which I did find helped on the weekend.

We get U/S every two weeks and until yesterday everything was fine. The tech said that the girls are almost the same in weight and had equal amniotic fluid levels. Then the Dr. came and did some measurements (struggling to some extent with the U/S machine) and said everything looked good BUT that Twin A had a bit more fluid. So we are headed back next Thursday to measure the fluid again and get a better look at their hearts (apparently 22 weeks is the best time). We are a little worried about TTTS but I also know depending on who is doing the U/S people get different results. The report sent to my Obs. Dr. did not even mention the fluid so not really sure what to think. So hopefully everything will turn out OK.

I am hoping that everything goes well for you and your girls. Hang in there!!

Julianna,

I wanted to chime in to say how glad I am that your babies are getting closer in size! That is amazing news!!! I have been praying for you and your babies after you posted about not being able to do the surgery that you had wanted. I hope you continue to get such wonderful news.

I am so glad to hear that Baby B is catching up. I was always checking for an update on your girls.

I have been to the website and it is informative. I had done lots of reading when we found out we were having identical twins. I am hoping that it was just a bad measurement and next week everything will be fine.

Keep us updated on your girls!!
