I'm 16 weeks and have really only gained about 8 lbs. I think I look about 5 mos along, pretty nice size belly in front. One book I read said that we should gain 25 lbs by week 20. UGH. I don't see how that can happen!? Maybe I'm just eating healthier and not so much JUNK so I'm actually losing the flab in here somewhere. I don't know. I'm normal size.

What does your doctor say? I would think healthy weight gain from a healthy diet is better than gaining fat on junk. How is your protein intake?

The dr hasn't commented at all on my weight, so I guess it is ok. Probably I lost weight by eating better and gained with the babies so it is just evening out right now, I guess. I have also heard the 6 small meals a day thing. I am hungrier but I feel full faster and the stupid heartburn started this week too! :(

I'm currently 26 weeks with my two boys and I don't know how the beginning of your pregnancy has been but mine was terrible.

I have been frustrated by the recommended weight gains for multiple gestations. Here I am almost 19 weeks with triplets and I've gained about 13lbs. I'm actually happy with that number because I lost weight during the 1T and so far the babies are growing right on track, but Dr. Luke's book says I should be up significantly more and that's frustrating. In fact, I haven't really read her book thoroughly because I got so upset by the recommendations and milestones I haven't been reaching. I was slightly overweight when I got pg so my dr told me not to worry about it, but try telling a pg lady not to worry! I also feel full faster. Hopefully the h/b passes soon, otherwise I found milk my best relief.

Dr. Google is evil, but I never listen to my own advice to stay away. lol When I was 12 weeks I was barely getting back into somewhat normal eating habits once the m/s went away and was basically at my starting weight so don't feel too bad. I have a feeling the weight will creep on over the next few weeks for you, but I understand the worry until it does. I actually weighed in at my appt on Thursday as +20lbs so that was quite a welcomed shock. Hang in there (I know, worst advice ever.)
