Question About Due Date?

Hello hello! Saw my doctor today and she says twins are considered full term at 37 weeks. Would that change my due date?? Should I be going by the twins due date or should I stick to the singleton due date? Like when she says full term, does she mean they won't let me go past 38 weeks (which would technically be a week past due)? I'm really really hoping :) My everything hurts...I don't know if I could do 3 more months!

Your due date for gestational growth etc will not change, only their arrival date will. HTH :-)

Yes, that makes sense. One other thing...the babies continue to grow on schedule-like to the day. But my belly is measuring 4-5 weeks ahead, and that kinda scares me!! I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but would my doc let me go to 40+ weeks if I didn't go into labor on my own??

I'm going to go with "it depends." Some OBs consider 36 weeks perfect and won't let moms go past that. Some consider 38 weeks perfect and schedule then. Others seem to want to let nature take it course and take a wait and see attitude. It also depends on what you push for. I have yet to hear anyone say "I wanted to wait a week and my OB refused" when we're talking 37-38 weeks. I know of one MoM that went to 40 weeks, so it does happen.

My YDD always measured on date or a day ahead, her brother a day or two ahead. I personally measured 5-6 weeks ahead and went to just past 38 weeks. HTH
