I am currently pregnant with what we thought was a single pregnancy (I have twins who are 3). My NEW ob is pretty sure he heard 2 heartbeats on doppler...I'm not going in for another ultrasound (had one at 8 weeks) until the 1st...OMG, this would put me at 5 kids age 3 and under...I'm kinda freaking out mostly because I had already been feeling those flutters in two separate places for a couple of weeks now, and I'm obscenely large in the belly region already...i will keep you all posted..

Hey Sarah, I said it on RM but I'll say it again, I would be *ticked* at someone swearing he heard twins and not doing an u/s ASAP to confirm. I'd also be wondering just what he was thinking making that diagnosis via doppler after you had an u/s that *should* have caught twins. I hope you find some sanity between now and the 1st, I know I'd be looney toons by then.

I honestly think he would've if I'd asked...but like I said, it was like I didn't "hear" those words until I got to the car...I kept thinking "why is he looking at me so funny?" hahahaha...no wonder...I just asked if the appt was over and if I could leave...He was probably thinking, "why didn't she ask for a u/s??" lol, I think I may have even said, "I like to wait until I can find out what the sex is..." seriously...it was like I took a step out of reality for a moment...

I would just think he'd say "hey, let's go check this out" instead of making you ask for it, KWIM?

Ya, I guess...oh well, I have a month to wait, and I'm surprisingly okay with it...I'm really digging the anticipation now...I'm thinking it'll be a fun day (April fools) to find out...

I was shaking so bad seeing "A" and "B" and "twins" pop up as she typed on my first u/s that she had to ask me to relax so she could finish. I can't imagine having to wait after hearing something like that. You're a lot braver than I, I'll give you that. :-)

Lol no sense in worrying about something you have no control over, right? And honestly, would knowing change anything? Probably not, my husband gets his yearly bonus right before my ultrasound so we were going to go shopping for my birthday (April 3rd). So, now, if it is twins, I get to buy twice as much stuff. I was really scared and freaked out yesterday, but today I feel total calm. Maybe it's because my girls were so stinking easy. Really, with the exception of colic the 1st 3 months (which was easily managed if my daughter could sleep on my husband's chest) they were SO easy...way easier than my son...so I guess to me, twins just doesn't seem THAT much scarier than one. My biggest fear is the "high risk pregnancy" issues, but various friends and family had already scheduled vacation to stay and help out the months before the birth (b4 this unexpected possibility arose), so even that issue doesn't seem that scary. Plus, my husband has the option to take 3 months leave of absence at 100% pay should complications arise. Technically he can take 6 months, they just have to be for two separate reasons...one for me, one for babies..

I just NEVER thought I'd ever be able to have kids period (infertility) so after my twins, we were done with the treatments bc we had gone through so much heartache and money getting pregnant and keeping that pregnancy. When I conceived my son, we were shocked bc I had been given a 3% chance of ever conceiving naturally.. With this one, I figure whatever the outcome, it's meant to be...(though I will definitely be getting my tubes tied during my c-section)

I know the feeling. I stopped ovulating and having periods for years before conceiving ODD. I had only had two periods (not even normal or on any schedule) before I got pregnant with her. My doctor told me it was a miracle, and likely a once in a lifetime occurance. I stopped my pills before we were 100% ready to TTC because I figured it would take forever, and I wouldn't even cycle normally. Less than two weeks later I double ovulated and the one time we DTD that month did the trick. I had a tubal after that, I don't trust that I'm not fertile when obviously I am. Especially after knowing I had one blocked fallopian tube since ODD's c/s at the least. :-P

You have the patience of a saint!! I would be begging for the u/s right this minute! LOL

Good luck -- I'm looking forward to finding out the results of your u/s! And if it is twins again, I hope they're every bit as easy as your first set!!

Trust me, I have a friend who is an u/s tech 2 hours from here. I was ready to pack the kids up and make a drive. I sat back from the situation for a bit, and I thought that finding the sex out and whether or not I was having twins on April Fool's day was just kinda cool. Now it feels like such an "event!" I mean think about it, if it IS twins..."when did you find out you were having twins?" "on April Fool's day!!" Will be a neat story to tell them...And since this will be the last baby (or babies) I want EVERYTHING to be special...

I will definitely be keeping everyone posted as soon as I know...

That is exciting, for sure! Funny coincidence, my first set of twins were born on April Fools Day -- that got a lot of laughs! :)
