Hi All

My names Becky and two weeks ago i found out i ws expecting identical twins. I already have a beautiful soon to be 4 year old son and tbh i am scared to death! I am 15 weeks pregnant.

I have lots of support round me but im still petrified of the first few months/years.

Anyone feel/felt the same? Any parents of twins who can offer me any advice?

Thank you so much

xx

Hi Becky! Congratulations on your twins! How exciting...and terrifying! I am still in shock that I'm having triplets and as the weeks go by the realities of raising 3 babies at once feels so intimidating. This is a great board for support specific to embarking on the journey of multiples and I hope you enjoy it here. The btdt ladies have great advice, and there are quite a few of us currently pg so we can share in everything together. I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome aboard, Becky! We're glad that you have joined us so that we can share your journey with you.

I totally understand the shock factor of twins. My twins are identical boys, and now 5 months old. They are my only children, but I was told I couldn't have children about 8 years ago, and surprise you're pregnant was just about as much of a surprise as surprise there's two lol. But you will find that it's really not bad at all. There will be some very overwhelming times, but I can assure you that there is nothing like the experience of holding two babies at once, and then having them look up at you and grin.

It will all sink in. I have a 5 year old my first twins are one today, I'm now pregnant with my second set and really, all the feelings of shock and worry came back regardless of my previous experience. Just relax and take it one day at a time. I'm not going to lie- the 6 months or so were intense, but once they start sleeping better things get much easier. Now it's just trying to keep them out of everything :)

Congrats & welcome! This is a great place to come for advice. I'm 30 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins...and I still have my moments of shock. I have 2 older children (10 & 6).

I also have identical twin boys, but mine are 15 months old. As pp mentioned the shock will wear off, but it will take quite awhile. Regarding once they are here, yeah, it will be busy, it will be hectic, and yes you will want to pull your hair out at times, but when you see them take a notice in each other and eventually play with each other you wouldn't want anything else.
