What? Are you kidding?

Ok today I had my first ultrasound because I didnt know how far along I am. I found out today I am six weeks with 5 yes I said 5 sacs. They saw at least two heartbeats and one yolk. But they said they are for sure about the other two because it was just tooo early. I go back in a week and a half. I asked so what is the probablity of having all. She said she could say at this point just tooo early. The other two could be just a couple of days behind. I am sooo scared and shocked.

Please help. Can you let me know how many sacs you had at the beginning and how many babies did you actually have.

Thank you

christy

Oh my, congratulations and wow! I only had two sacs and had two babies, but I wish you well and hope you have a great u/s result (that isn't as scary) in the outcome.

My husband and I did IVF and transferred 3 embries. At our first u/s @ 6 wks 3 days we saw 4 hbs and today are the proud parents of 3 year old quadruplet girls. If you don't mind me asking were you using any type of fertility treatments? If you would like you can email me using the email address in my profile.

I had two sacs/HB's and am still pregnant with twins.
There was another woman on the board who started out with 4 sacs, 2 HB and by the end of the first trimester is now carrying a singleton. Pretty much anything can happen, typically the higher the number of sacs the less chance all of them will be live births. Higher order multiples are pretty uncommon with clomid, but twins are very common- hoping your next ultrasound is reassuring for you.

Wow you were only taking clomid too. I just never thought that it was possible to have this many with just clomid. (I am having 4). This is so insane and rare and now there are 2 of us that only took clomid. I hope that everything goes great at your ultrasound. If you do end up with high order multiples we will be going through this journey together.

It is great to know someone else in the same boat! I cant wait for the ultrasound next wednesday. Then we will know what is really going on. I am about 5 days behind you.

I was told the chances with clomid are rare to have more than one. I know twins sometimes happen but not on 50 mg.

My ultrasound is next wednesday too. I took 100mg of clomid so I guess that I had a little bit of a higher chance of twins, plus I read that when you are under 25 (I am 24)

I heard that your chances of carrying multiples was higher when you were older also. DH and I are both 29. So I didnt think I was in that catergory either. Yes I totally believe everything happens for a reason. This was really the case when I had my son with DS and asked God why alot. I think my mind will be at ease on wednesday to actually know what is going on! Cant wait! Let me know what happens at your doctors apt also!

I will for sure let you know how it goes at the doctors. I think that finally I am starting to accept that there are 4 babies in there. How have you been feeling? Have you been sick at all?
