Thanks to the lessons in survival skills her savvy dad taught her, the 9-year-old managed to escape from her kidnapper, who happened to be her former stepfather and an accused child molester.

i would like to think yes but somethings that have gone with him recently I fear no. They teach self defense in his karate. Its actually a big thing for his school, they go to local woman's shelters too and when they do demo's they always include kids and self defense. They used to refer to as bully defense but under the new bully policy some parents have voiced concern because defending yourself physically agaist a bully can get you in trouble...but Dh has tested him defore to see if he can get out of a situation I just think when its that momment fear would take over so all the self defense in the world can't overcome paralysing fear.
