I used to fear what others had to say -- but not anymore.

I was sitting in an airport recently and watching a family with a small child. She was pretty precocious. She was visiting with just about everybody waiting to board. The parents were a bit anxious - hoping she wasn't being a bother. Everyone was doting on her. There was another mom with two small children - one sleeping and the other sitting quietly by her side. However, once we boarded, it was a totally different story! As soon as the planes engines came to life, the sleeping child came to - and screamed at the top of her lungs. What was interesting was no one sitting nearby, complained or asked to move -- a lovely woman across the aisle comforted the child and was able to help out. From my seat further back in the plane, I only heard one derogatory remark about the crying child that morning. The mom, children and her "assistant" for the flight were fast friends by the end of the flight.
