High Cholesterol?

I was curious if anyone has had their kids' cholesterol levels checked yet? It was something our ped brought up and I had all my boys tested. Matthew (almost 10, going into 5th) came back with some high numbers, especially his bad. We are going to see a dietician and work on bringing it down. I don't think he's overweight, but has bulked up in the past year ( you can see a current pic in my siggy). I was actually surprised that his twin didn't have an issue because he's always been bigger and less active. Matthew's not very active now but will be when fall comes around. He'll play soccer than basketball when that's over. Has anyone else gone through this?

I have not...my dr. has not suggested it and honestly I don't know if I would do it if he did. Nathaniel has kinda bulked up a bit over the past year but it seems to be coming off now. We keep a healthy diet, are not as active as we should be but are active. The hot summer kinda hinders that this time of year. I know that high cholesterol can be hereditary though...at least I think I have heard that. I am interested in what others have to say, if anyone else has dealt with this.

The basis for the testing was family history, which we have on my dh's side. I'm glad we know that he'll need to watch it, but it's going to be interesting trying to lower it.
