My dd21 had an IEP, and in college she has a plan through disability services; dd18 had a 504 plan during high school; ds11 has an IEP- ds9 was the exception, who managed to get done with his IFSP (early intervention IEP) by elementary. Add in our little annoyances (glasses for all four, had braces or will have braces for all four) and our major annoyances (chronic medical issues for two) and it gets hard.

I look at other people and say, 'wow, where was I the day they passed out the easy kids?"

But ya know, it is almost always harder than it looks. This summer, I spoke with a woman

Theresa, you are right things could be worse and no family is perfect. Most families are dealing with something and we always will. Being a parent I just don't want to see my kids struggle but I guess they will have to because it teaches them. Like you the girls both have glasses, Becca has to wear them all the time. She had an eye that was much weaker than the other and we did not know until after she started school. Kaitlyn only needs to wear her glasses at school. We face braces for all 3, Kaitlyn has just finished phase 1 and will get them off next week for a few year then get them back. We all do have our own issues and thinking we have it worse than someone else is stupid because there are alot of people out there that are worse off than me.

Becca's issue is motivation versus LD issue. I know she does not have a problem she just does not want to do the work. Maybe it is because she does not want to fail but have not seen that side of her yet. Yes, she has been placed in my life for a reason and alot of things in my life seem to repeat themselves so obviously I did not learn the 1st time. Becca is so different in her work ethic than DH and I so it is shocking to see it in her. Thanks.
