Instead of using the word 'weakness' I am choosing to use the word 'challenge.'

am I supposed to pick just 1???? OK that may sound horrible but I like to think I am a realist. I know so many parents just brag and brag but lets face it is any kid really THAT fantastic ;)

Anyway Liam's challenges are all tied in 1 way or another to the adhd and the birth defect and set a chain reaction. Between motor skills issues, an oral fixation and anxiety it can make any day a challange to get through. Then add in the ADHD and I sometimes pitty his teacher...

Sitting down, slowing down, and not panicking over schoolwork/homework. (Johan)

First we've got to get him to sit down

Then we've got to get him to slow down-- I keep telling him it's not a race, you don't get a gold medal for completing it the fastest-- this is usually where he makes mistakes that he could have avoided or doesn't understand the question or problem which leads to.......

Panic!

Boy-oh-boy do we have challenges. My oldest and youngest have all of the challenges that come with adoption, moving to a new country, and learning a new language. Macy (2nd grade) has some issues with comprehension. She has a big need to please everyone and do a good job. I think when she's asked questions she panics (see post above) and has a hard time relaxing to think of the answer to a question. I'm sure some of it is also her speaking English as a Second Language.

Fletcher, my 2nd year Kindergartner, has severe anxiety.

Felix (preschool) has emotional issues, anger, etc. stemming from adoption and loss. He's super smart though.

We're quite the crew! ;)

Right now we are really working on humility.

Lately Nathaniel's biggest challenge has been time management.
