Do you think kids these days know a little bit more about the birds and the bees at this age than we did?

I do think it is likely that more children overall are knowledgeable.
I don't think Nathaniel knows more than I did either.
My son is in 5th grade and this is the year that introduce the subject at the end of the year so I plan on discussing it with him at home first.
The birds and bees talk is in 5th grade. I'm not sure when the more detailed talks take place. ie birth control, sexually transmitted disease, etc.
I've talked to J about the body changes he will see and a tad bit about the birds and bees. He has a few elementary books on his shelf that he can refer to when he has q's. He has a lot to learn about responsible sexual activity. I so am not ready to go there with a 5th grader. ugh.
Zeph knows quite a bit.
I think with him being adopted, a lot of our discusisons came up
I'm not ready for the topic but I can see that as they move to middle school the timing is probably right.
