We're about 2/3 of the way through the school year and I'm running out of ideas! If you pack a lunch for your child, what do you put in it? It doesn't help that my kids are picky, ugh.

Treddlesewingmachine, I have been working with the paleo as help for gluten free for my middle one and I came upon this recipe for paleo breakfast bread. I've made it once before, but did again this morning and I had forgotten how good it is! My youngest one and I like it, though the middle one still hasn't taken to it quite yet. http://practicalpaleo.blogspot.com/2012/04/paleo-breakfast-bread.html

This is one of my favorite sites for lunch ideas and it has been really helpful!

We've been doing gluten free most of the year for my middle one and I've had a bit of a problem not doing sandwiches, because she is picky also, but we have decided and I need to go get one, a thermos for soups and stir fry that she does like that i make.  On a typical day, i'll do baby carrots and ranch dressing, a granola bar, some sort of fruit, either a bowl of strawberries and grapes or a apple and peanut butter sandwich, yogurt, trail mix and a drink, either a juice box or a protein shake.  We have a tough schedule, she gets up at 6:30, will sometimes eat, then she gets to school at 7:50 and they have breakfast in their classrooms, and then they eat lunch at 10:10, so by lunch, a lot of times she's not realy hungry and doesn't eat much, and then they have a snack around 2:00, a snack at after school care at 3:30 and then we walk in the door home at 5:45-6 and she's starving for dinner.

Oh I got picky kids but lucky they would eat the same thing everyday (ok Id say I find it weird but then again I do the same but it makes it easy) My little guy takes a PB sandwich and peaches and my gradeschooler usually a lunchable either pizza or chicken dunks. Its great the come with snacks and juice, so easy in the morning. He used to take spaggetti os in a thermos. He is NOT a sandwich kid but for camp will do a ham sandwich.

My daughter is 7th grade and has embarked on a mostly paleo diet with me.   She goes in one day a week for classes (we homeschool the rest.)   I usually pack in a bento box:  a hard boiled duck egg or egg sushi (basically an egg crepe, rolled and cut like sushi) fruit and nut mix, V8, baby carrots with pickled ginger, an apple or orange and sometimes rice/nut crackers.

My boys occassionally go in, and love it when I buy the premade sushi for them to eat.  It doesn't have raw fish, but they love that other people think it does.   I will also give them about the same as their sister.   It isn't totaly paleo with the rice, but we don't eat it often.
