What's your "momism?"

I was laughing this morning with another mom whose son was mad that she didn't have any waffles for breakfast. My (4 year old!) son quoted me the other day, saying, "I know mommy, you're not a chef!" I *may* be guilty of saying that often in my house, along with "I'm not a waitress." and "I'm not your maid." :smileyfrustrated:

What are your momisms?

"Don't do that, we can't go to the ER because I haven't had dinner yet" --- I've told them this many times, luckily they get the hint :smileylol:

Ohh those are good ones!! I use "Do what you think is right." when they're trying to decide between right and easy. Gets 'em every time.

"Look with your eyes, NOT your hands!" (Almost any store that we go into.)

"Go outside. Go outside. GO outside. GO OUTSIDE! GO CLEAN YOUR ROOM!" (They all go outside then.)

In response to "I'm booored." "Go clean your room." or better yet "Go clean the bathroom!"

About dangerous stuff (which I may allow more than other moms by not looking) "Because I don't feel like going to the ER today!"

I have to try that "Go clean your room." to get them outside. I bet it would work because none of them ever want to clean.

I also use "Do you know how to drive yet? Because I'm not driving you to the hospital when you get hurt."

Or, "I've asked you to stop doing that, so don't come to me when you get hurt."

Boy am I a meanie!

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in the mean Mom dept ;)

My girls love to ask for things while I'm driving, so I usually tell them, "Would you like to get to xyz, or would you prefer we all go to the hospital instead?".

"too bad" is another favorite of mine.

hmm, I'm sure there are many others, just can't think of them right now....

Yes!! I always tell them, "Well, I'm driving the car right now. Should I keep doing that, or go ahead and climb in the backseat to pick up the {pencil, cracker, book, whatever} that you dropped?"
