How about:

--we got our first color tv when I was a preschooler

--tv consisted of 4 channels, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS for most of my childhood (assuming the reception was OK)

--the remote consisted of me or my sister changing the channel or volume

--video games were played at the Pizza Hut because Atari wasn't out yet, then when it was, pong, space invaders

--absolutely no such thing as a cell or mobile phone, if you needed to make a phone call, ask a friend/neighbor/etc to borrow theirs (attached to the wall) or carry change (was 10 cents then)

--boom boxes were becoming a hit when I was a teen

--computers were for scientists and corporations, never in the home

--cameras had actual film, Polaroid was as 'instant' as you were going to get

--no vcr, if you missed a show, too bad

--you had to actually go to a theater to see a movie, while it was out

--books consisted of actual paper pages glued/stitched together

--80's Hair Bands, LOL

Well if it makes you feel better when I was Liam's age it was Billy Joel not Garth Brooks.

Now this is partly because my parents are never the type to jump on newest tech stuff but we did have an 8 track growing up nd you could still buy 8 tracks. Record player, can remember going with my sister to local music shop for 45s and speaking of actually record stores seem to be a dying thing.
