Despite our school system's TAG program being officially enrichment model rather than acceleration, due to the rate at which M. and his classmates have mastered the first grade material the entire class has already completed their grade's

They are all being issued new books today for the next grade level. Happy that they're not holding them back on principle based on their "enrichment model" philosophy.

That's wonderful; not only does it make sense, but it gives you a warm fuzzy for how they approach things (being willing to be flexible according to the children's needs...what a novel approach! :)).

How is he enjoying the TAG program?

That is so cool Gwen! What a great program!

So how does that affect 2nd grade? (He's in first now, right?) They just keep moving along despite what grade they're technically in? Or at some point would they all skip a grade?

That's fantastic that the whole group is moving along together!

He hates all the writing because he is fine motor impaired, but otherwise loves it.
