Anybody else fighting this battle?

For years and years I've been looking for fun and challenging things for DD to do that didn't cost a lot.

Ugh, I hate that. I don't have that issue with DD but I absolutely have it with DS. It's ironic because DS is my highly social child. You'd think he'd jump at any chance to be around more people but he's also more concerned about what others think.

Has she considered starting a new club WITH her friends? That might be a door opener. It can be something small like a foriegn language club or something big. DD started a Muggle Quidditch league with her friends this year and it's been very successful.

I know it doesn't help if her friends aren't involved but mock trial might be another interesting one for her. DD has been surprised at how much she loves it. Basically, they are given a real case with all the real evidence but not the results. In the end, they do the trial in front of a real judge down at the county courthouse. It's pretty fascinating.
