What do your children choose to put on their walls? Do they go for decoration and style? Do they go for nostalgia or special meaning? Is your child in a room that was decorated for them and perfectly happy with it that way? At what age did they start asserting themselves in what their room would look like?

Dylan has a bullitin board that takes up one whole wall.

When my son was 18 mo. We switched from Pooh to "Eye cars" (Disney Cars) at his insistence.

10 yo has a periodic table, a few playbills, a poster of 5 Finger Death Punch, and a ton of horse pictures. I think the walls are purple under that.

5 yo has newly painted gray walls and not sure what she wants up yet. Last I knew, she wanted Batman villians.

3 yo still has the nursery, so chocolate walls with random green accents.

My kids' bedrooms are so small that they don't really spend much time in them other than to sleep, so they don't put a lot of energy into decorating them. Our house is also very short on storage space, and clutter is a huge problem. My kids like being able to keep their rooms clear of visual clutter.

Ds15 has nothing on his walls. He has almost no walls ... furniture, doors and windows cover most vertical space.

Dd13 has a painted lupin mural on her one wall.

Wouldn't a chalkboard wall be cool? I've seen them all over Pinterest and would love to do one, just don't have a good place in my house...

Every once in a while, the stand-up tardis goes on sale for $20 and free shipping - You just have to check back once in a while until you get a good price -

How cool a cut-out of the Tardis! We've never seen one of those.
