I photographed and scanned everything. Most everything has hit the recycling bin except for his journal, a couple of books, the pictures that I framed, and the items hanging on clipboards that are labeled by month.

Eventually i'll do something with the scans or not.

I'm not sure about getting a good deal, but I love the ease of Blog2Print through SharedBooks. It lets me customize the look, feel and content exported from my blog with just a few clicks. Not cheap, but a heck of a lot cheaper than scrapbooking! My 2008 volume arrived today and I'm in raptures :)

And no, I'm not on the company payroll ;^)

Do you go through online photo places or have you foud better deals through small publishers and such. I never blogged but I do have good digital records over the years of art projects, activites, papers, photos ect. There is a part of me that thinks it's wierd to have discs and discs of pictures that no one ever sees. I have considered doing "best of" books of each year but not gotten around to it yet.

I keep a blog and have since back before they were called blogs. I started journaling on-line in 1997, coding the HTML from scratch. Life got so much easier when blogger and all those other services came along! Anyway, I post on an ongoing basis, taking five or fifteen minutes at the end of the day a couple of times a week. I can scan in artwork, transcribe things the kids have written, photograph installations and activities, link to videos. Recently I've been picking through my archived posts a year at a time and getting the "keeper posts" printed and bound as books. I have everything up to 2007 on my bookshelf now and am anxiously awaiting 2008 which should be arriving any day now.

I've got a big accordion folder of M's pre-K stuff that should probably be weeded and more selective.
