OT - Clothing for thin children?

DS is now 14 and wearing a size 20 slim jeans w/adjustable interior waistband from Landsend. Anybody know of jeans/khakis for slim teen boys? I found a few companies with 26" waist jeans, but the length is only 28" inseam and DS's current inseam is 30" - he will need longer soon. I am only asking on this forum because folks here steered me to Landsend in the first place. I'm hoping someone has found solutions and can share. Many thanks - Suzanne
Sorry, I'm no help. My ds16 is skinny but not particularly tall, and he is happy wearing jeans with a 28 waist that kind of fall off him (which I guess gives him a de facto few extra inches of leg length). He has some belts he likes, but they don't seem to hold his pants up. He doesn't care.
For dress pants we ended up ordering from Banana Republic: they seem to have a few styles in 28Wx32L. Those work for my ds. Probably wouldn't work for yours just yet, but maybe by next year?

Both my boys (ages 13 and 9) are skinny but they are also short so they are both still in kid-size pants so I'm not much help either.
I did just take a peak at the American Eagle website out of curiosity and it does look like they have "slim khakis" with a 26" waist and up to 36" inseam. However, it looks like a lot of stuff is "out of stock" online. Hopefully you have a store near you? Good luck!

You're going to hate this solution but it does work for my 6'2", 135 lb son. We buy pants at American Eagle, usually a 32 x33. The 32 waist is too large and the 33 inseam, when we can find it (often he's stuck with a 32 inseam), is a bit short. He solves this little problem by wearing his pants low on his hips and belting them with a canvas belt so they don't fall off, then wearing a men's medium tall (Land's End sells these online) polo shirt to cover up the low pants. This passes dress code at his school and you really can't tell his pants are on his hips.
For band, he needed black dress pants, so I found a 32x33 pair at Nordstrom Rack. I think they're Penguin brand or something like that. They are cut very slim and fit him well, so he uses them for other dress up occasions. He also borrows his dad's dress shirts, which are 15 1/2 x 35, a hair too big, but workable.
This, for now, is our solution. If anyone finds anything better, please post it!
Any ideas for girls? My 15 year old has grown some at last but she's still small: 82 pounds and perhaps approaching 5'2". She has been able to find jeans and often pairs these with oversized tee shirts or camis and overshirts. The bigger problem comes up with more formal things like dresses and skirts or frankly, anything that isn't jeans. She becomes quite upset when she can't fit into the things she likes.
Thanks all. I also got steered toward the Wrangler website, and it seems to start at 26 waist.
I'm guessing your D could wear a 0 (in the misses, not juniors dept). I think Macy's and Lord and Taylor have some nice formal prom/bar mitzvah dresses in smaller sizes. The only issue we have is that some are trampy and very poorly made, but at least you can rule those out on sight!
Another store that always has a good selection of small sizes is Anthropologie. They are very expensive, and they don't have a lot of actual formal wear, but we have found dresses suitable for a semi-formal there.
