I know it was mentioned in the May check-in but few actually wrote their summer plans. I know for us, we just nailed it all in this morning. I thought I'd start a specifically summer thread.

DD has 2.5 weeks left of school! She's just a little excited lol. She got into two summer plays and will be crewing a third at her youth theatre.

Dd8: Theatre Camp in July. Suzuki violin camp in August. Planning to sell home-made herbal teas at the community market every week.

Dd12: Theatre Camp and Film/Animation Camp in July. Suzuki violin camp in August. Has plans to sell old-fashioned hard-candy at the community market every week ... production is in full swing!

Ds14: Suzuki violin/viola camp in August. Working part-time mowing lawns for one of the lakefront resorts. Mentoring with local computer tech/repair guy ad lib.

Dd17: Away all summer doing National Youth Orchestra. (Found out this full-scholarship program is worth $15,000 per student for the summer. Wow! She is so lucky!)

Everyone... family reunion for 9 days at the end of August. Final family event before dd17 flies the coop.

DS20 has no firm plans yet...is restoring a car. It wasn't meant to be a car restoration project, just cheap transportation. Heh, heh, heh. Maybe next time he will listen when I say there's no such thing as a good cheap car.

Wow! Congrats on that scholarship! I'm sure she totally deserved it and is excited to go.

Good luck on all the enterprise going on this summer. Hope they sell big!

sorry to hear about your friend dying. I know all too well how good it can be to be able to help out with the kids after such a thing, how it helps you deal with the grief knowing you're doing something useful. We've taken care of a little girl in such a situation for years, until her dad got into a new relationship. He later on told us we took care of him too, it helped him to keep life going (he lost his wife, a good friend of ours, and second child during birth). We also cooked for them 3 days a week, the simplest thing, but it made all the difference to him...

That new brace sounds like a big improvement! Fingers crossed for no surgery needed...
