After reading Rebekah's post about resolutions every mom should make, I've resolved to do more family time where I'm not worrying about the dirty dishes or laundry that needs to be put away.

Playing a board game, watching a movie, playing with the wii, sitting in the centre of town on a terrace in summer enjoying the sun and a drink and good company of friends, having friends over for dinner (the girls love to help cooking, Yara has made quite some people happy with her sushi), baking things, going shopping (with DD 11), going for a hike, swimming, to the beach, the zoo.... I like how most of these things are unplanned. On a Sunday morning DD10 and I will be the only ones awake with Danae and say 'let's go to the zoo' and we'll leave a note for the sleeping beauty part of the family. If we think of baking cookies the girls run to our neighborhood mini-market to get the necessities, we can meet friends while shopping and just take them home for dinner... I love it best when things just come as they are.... and I love to photograph, so sometimes I'll just initiate something so I can take pics (like going to the beach, even now in winter time...)

DD and I see a lot of theatre together.... A LOT lol. It's something we both love. DH and DS come sometimes but it's mostly DD and myself. DD and DH go to concerts together... Sometimes with DS. DS and I cook together several times a week. The boy barely eats but he LOVES to cook. We still read together but often it's poetry or plays now due to time.

All together, well, we play games like Apples to Apples. We watch old Star Trek
series and discuss like major geeks. We play music together. We like to hike, go to dog beach with the pooch. We watch tv and movies. We've been going to Disney a lot this past year with our passes. I admit, we are a busy bunch so all together isn't as common as it used to be but I feel like we make the most of the time we have.

I really need to remember the Wii more often. We played it a lot together when we first got it and it was so much fun!

I love that you and DD wake up early and go on adventures together!

I think that's what is important - making the most of the time that you do have together. I need to be better about that instead of trying to get things accomplished or just melting into the couch in exhaustion!

What are ice lanterns? I'm intrigued! (And I love crafty things!)

We live in a small town where we don't really have places to go (no zoos, plays, movies or restaurants), nor are we a video-game family. We seem to have a lot of fun but it's mostly just "in the flow of life" fun. Like bizarre hilarious dinner table conversation, or a spontaneous game of quidditch that we invent while playing outside in the snow (we were supposed to be shovelling), or goofing around while doing the dishes, or playing a weird story game while on a long drive.

I know I catch myself saying those things too. We love playing board games together. Nathaniel himself intiated that we would have a family game night ever week and we play things like LIFE, Monopoly and Clue.

We love playing the Wii but since we've beat the Mario Bros. game and started going back to get the star coins so we can play courses in world 9 its gotten to be a bit of a war LOL a friendly one mind you but we are serious Mario players.

We watch the old 80's and 90's sitcoms together. I love watching The Cosby Show or Full House with Nathaniel.
