Happy Birthday!

I am the mom of a teenager!   I love him and like him oodles and oodles!  Zeph had a great birthday.  It started off with a surprise breakfast of steak, eggs and latkes with applesauce.  He played a video game for a bit and then opened gifts-all were hits!  While he built a new lego set I went out and finished scrubbing the mid level of deck.  My arms are exhausted.  He played some Minecraft too (a brithday game), did a bit of schoolwork and read some of his new book.   Then we went out to late lunch /early dinner at PF Changs-yum!   After they dropped me off, he and DH went to their bowling league and Zeph was happy to wear his own bowling shoes and use his bowling bag (gifts).  We had cake on he deck in the dark and then watched some episodes of Warehouse13.   He's staying up until midnight to get the most of his birthday day:)

Happy birthday to Zeph!!!  Teenagers are (mostly) lots of fun, and I think you'll enjoy yours for the next seven years Innocent  Sounds like he had a fantabulous day!

Still weird software stuff going on at village. Happy, Happy to Z. I am in the mist of trying to negotiate Birthday celebrations with my middle child. Her idea and my idea are not on the same page. I am not up to crazy middle school girls everywhere and we have reached a one kid can stay and a few can come over for cake. This weekend will be more negotiations of her wishes vs. my needs. I am not fully charged for a whole big crazy time, I want low key this year. That is what her sisters got, and she should not expect over the top, stuff. Yet she sure can dream big. Maybe next year....we can go big, but this year I am not up to it. I will probably get her a gift card for clothes shopping, by double digits, that is what most girls want. I sort of want to get her a new cage for her Beardie, so may look into that. Now that she is so busy with social stuff, I feel like Beardie is getting less out of cage time, and his cage is to small for that. He either needs out regularly or a bigger cage for movement needs. SO I may go with that. She would love that for her Pet. I am tired of birthday party planning jobs. Yet, we all keep getting older! H.

We skipped a kid party this year, but on Monday his close friends are coming over for a Nerf battle at the park by our house followed by sweets. It's like a party without calling it a party.  Hope you and your middle can come to a meeting of the minds.
