Monday Homeschool Recess 4/8

Hey moms and grandmas, come on out and play.  It's recess time!

I have a list of stuff to do but what am I doing?  Sitting at the computer.  Not for long...but I do need to type up a document and then I can start a virus scan.  Getting bunches of spam emails all of a sudden...don't think I'm infected but one never knows, does one, LOL?

The kiddos are going out mesa climbing  today...a full day.  DD is so excited.  She loved it yesterday, just the short climb they did.  There are more pics on facebook, if you were able to access the link in the weekend wiggles thread.

I have orchestra tonight...if I can manage to stay awake.  DH, unknown to me, set his phone alarm for 0630...on my day off.  He is not a "tiptoe in the tulips" kind of person, nor does he lay out his clothes or do any prep stuff ahead of time.  So I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep if I stayed in bed.  I got up and went and sat in my chair, and next thing you know, he had the kitchen light on for 1/2 an hour while he took some police patches off of a uniform shirt so he can wear it for his weighmaster job!  Now couldn't that, at least, have been done on one of his days off?  Because that light being on ensured that I couldn't sleep in my chair either!  Guess I should have just gone to one of the kids' rooms, but I didn't know that was going to be necessary, LOL.

OK, off to find my first cup of coffee for the day.

I hadn't heard of the play but I looked it up.  I hope they do it locally some day. I'd love to see it!  (I'll have to remember the title for next time they ask for title suggestions from the volunteers).

I'm a day late, but there was no time for recess yesterday!  The pups work me up before 5 becasue they were scared of the thunder. I just stayed up.  I accomplished laundry, dishes, and bill paying all before 7am.  We left the house about 8:30  First stop the post office followed by the play, My Heart in a Suitcase.  The play was excellent and emotional.  When we got there, we saw 2 other homeschooling families we knew and the ushers kindly rearranged our seating so we could all sit together.

Brunch out was next followed by a trip to the book store and the libray.  We had about an hour to find books to flll in history holes.  Zeph had Lit Group at the library and I had a chance to visit with some of my friends. We came home to 2 happy pups- happy we were home. I took a short nap and then dinner and school.

Heather hbka20, I'm glad you're able to exercise your knee a bit in the pool (I had wondered about that, before you saw the doctor and got the ok) and I'm glad you're able to sleep better with the right amount of pain control.  Still sorry you're going through this but hey, it's a good learning experience for the girls in the end...that whole "sacrificing for other family members" that they'll be doing when they're mommies themselves.

Deborah, LOL, the enormous RV poking on the road in front of you.  Must have been one of those blasted snowbirds finally heading north, eh?  LOL.  My grandparents used to winter in either Cave Creek Canyon or Apache Junction, AZ...so they were one of those (not so enormous) RV travelling couples too.  I think they always took the northern route to come home, into WY to visit my aunt and uncle who live there.

Today is a town day...dd19 is in her printmaking class and has piano in ten minutes; dd15 is having her voice lesson. I bought a new Bic pen in girl colors because my favorite color on the last one blew up. (I think I can send the old one in for a replacement.) I walked to work with dh. This morning I did some research on my failed work computer and the head electronics guy said he could replace the capacitors for me...also I found some capacitor kits and a good shot of the motherboard with the failed ones. I hung out some towels, loaded the washer and delayed its start until 6 p.m., made lunch, and called my mom. Then I went to meet dh, we had lunch, and dd19, dd15 and I came to town. We were five minutes late for dd19's class because we could not pass an enormous RV that was going about 40 mph on the hills, swaying all over the road and hard to see around. It pulled off into a picnic area and we did the last bit of road at 70 mph (the limit) but it was too late to be early. So now I was planning to work on a website, but instead am surfing the internet and writing posts! Deborah

It is a great coffee day here too. It is noon time and I am on my 3rd cup, even after I lied down to rest an hour as my home student was given some computer and do on your own workbook stuff to stay busy. Just the running about and getting all the kids places was exhausting enough with my bum knee. We just had lunch, she did most of the work to heat up our veggie burgers while I found my meds and healthy vitamins stuff to add to my lunch to try and keep moving even at a snails pace! Glad she has energy to do for me so I can sit more. Everyone was so out of sympathy for Mom by this morning with extra chores before getting to school too. They are tired of all the Mom work, and mom complaining about ouch this and go get me that! I guess Spring break just was not that much fun for all. Oh well, the way it goes sometimes! I am struggling but surviving anyway, as it is often, for real people in the real world! I have figured out needed amounts of pain control, to sleep decently after it hurts most by bedtime, so that was good, I was not up all night, just a few wakes....which is not abnormal for me. Plus I did Physical therapy work in the pool yesterday afteernoon so that made it hurt a bit more. Yet....it also strengthens and heals...and we want healed, so there will suffering and struggling to get there! SLow, and tired but still making it on my own! Kids all getting educated in some way or another as well, so life does go on. A little less anxiety today, so that has been a bonus. Maybe from getting some exercise in at the pool did help that.
