Wednesday Homeschool Recess 5/1

Hey moms and grandmas, come on out and play.  It's recess time!

Wow, it's staying warm during the night tonight.  So strange.  Wasn't it just last week we had the furnace going 24/7?  The warm weather is certainly popping out wildflowers and pretty planted things in the yard.  I'm going to have to start looking for morels, too.  I suspect they won't be long in coming.

Today is short sleep followed by long afternoon.  DD has her music lesson and then sees her nutritionist, and then I think she's getting her hair colored by a friend who promises to not make it look too outlandish, LOL.  And then we have a vegan potluck, for which I need to concoct some edible delicacy. I wonder if attendees would enjoy some...uh...cooked noodles.  LOL.

So Deborah, how did the late night violin lesson go, LOL?  Too funny.  Gotta oblige those teenagers when the moment strikes though, right?

Crazy weather, I tell you.  The calendar says May but I'm certain it's wrong!

Heather, I'm sorry about your husband's grandmother passing away.  You're right...the good senior family members pass and then the family falls apart without their glue.  I've seen/am seeing that with both of my parents' families, for one reason or another.  Guess it's a good thing I'm an only child...nothing can fall apart because I have no siblings to do stupid stuff and alienate themselves!

Gack at the return of wintery weather for you, again.  This spring has certainly been...odd.  April was like March for us...cold, no leaves, no flowers, no nothing.  May is like June, and everything that wanted to burst in April is bursting all at one time in May.  Crazy, I tell ya.

Tonight it's 68F...tomorrow high is 36F? Humph. It's supposed to bottom out tonight at 33F, tomorrow night...22F. Brrr...what month are we in anyway? I noticed the pool is open...bwahahaha. Maybe I should take dd15 swimming before it gets cold? Unfortunately it's a no moon night. My 15-yo just showed up with a violin in her hand and said, "Hey mom, would you give me a lesson?" As I looked up in bemusement, she said, "Haven't you been waiting for this day for years?" "What do you want to learn?" "I don't know...YOU'RE the TEACHER". So I'm going to break into this post to...give a violin lesson. It is 10:12...the night is yet young. Deborah

Wish it were still warm here, back to cool and rainy (maybe winter stuff mix) and that may stay, for days! I made it to the pool and do feel better, did a little more than I should have, but no big pains, just good- tired feelings. So I am going to do some read aloud and make myself sit by doing that, plus lots to catch up anyway, from when not reading aloud much, last month. I think take out tonight so I can rest and go to my massage apt. without stuff to come home and do in kitchen work, maybe order out! Made an awesome salad at lunch, just from pulling stuff from the fridge, so that was great! In Spring I do not seem to watch as much TV when gardening can happen! Maybe you could take up gardening! Not much of that going on here still cold. H.

It was warm at night.  We slept wih windows open. I love falling asleep to a breeze.

I woke up to a bright sunny morning and it is already warm out!  This morning is school and housework but I think we'll do school on the deck.   After lunch is the last homeschool bowling.  This was a fun activity and I hope if she organzies it next year, it will work with our schedule.  Pork chop packets on the grill are for dinner, but we will need to eat early to make it to tennis.

No plans for tonight.  I put our satellite service on hold for thenext 3 months.  I mostly watch it in the evenings, so I guess I can use my time for something productive instead.

The bars were awesome, my middle child and I finished the last few for breakfast. They use eggs so not Vegan, but so yum. My yougest wants to try the blueberry bar recipe....made just like lemon only with blueberry juice, that one sounds great. Yet, I don't think I have berries so we will try that recipe again when we do. Recipe from Eating Well magazines new issue. My little one picked out the page to make them, so I had to do it...it was our assignment. She loves to assign me home work to do with her!

My husbands grandmother died, so we have new stress today. My kids did not know her well so it is not a big issue for them, they are sad for us, but they were not real attached, but they did know of her, and sent cards back and forth. I am sad about it, yet it has not completly hit me.

She was one of the better relatives in his group of family so I really will miss she is gone. My husband is all out of sorts because it brings up unresloved issues and he needs to call (another he wont listen to me about it but darn well blames me thing), but wont do it....because of all the problems with certain people in his family who would rather lie, deny whatever, than deal with problems well. The make more stress folks, tons of those in the world!

It seems all the grandmothers who were very accepting and loving toward me are gone and now all the witchy women are left in that family. Plus men who will cause more pain for them, if it makes them get whatever it is they get for that!

I do feel terrible for her husband, that she cared for so deeply, my husbands grandfather, as he will be without an amazing caretaker, that he had in her and in her side of the family.

Plus it is a all far, far, away, (california) so distance stuff as well.  So new stress to think about and cope with...I am going to the pool that helps me deal with stress. Wish I could do some laps, but leg not there yet, still I can play around in the water and that will help. Maybe time for a massage appointment...this stress will need help being worked out. Seeing I am not 100% able to exercise it out, yet.
