Hi there! My name is Sam and I'm a SAHM living in Florida. I have 3, soon to be 4 little ones. My oldest should start kindergarten in the fall but I am planning on homeschooling him. I am kind of at a loss of where to start. He is an early fall bday so he just missed the cut off date last yr. I let him attend preschool this yr. and have been sorely disappointed with it. He is dying to learn more and I teach him what I can at home, trying not to overwhelm him because of his prek schedule. I think he should definitely start at the K level with some things like reading and writing but maybe 1st grade level for math, science, and history. I think I'm going to use the singapore math. I did the placement tests with him. I have also looked in handwriting without tears, teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons, the ordinary parents guide to teaching reading, and five in a row. Has anyone used the five in a row series as part of your kinder curriculum? Did you like it? How in depth were the science, history, geography lessons or did you kinda create your own? Any other advice, tips, or curriculum suggestions would be appreciated.
