We have icemageddon - got about 3" of ice (instead of the 9-12" of snow they said) and then finally a few inches of snow on top of it. I think we're done. They've told us to stay home due to the ice; the street crews want time to clear things off vs. dealing with the goofy people in SUVs who for some reason around here feel they can conquer ice...well, they can't and they're causing trouble for the road crews and emergency people. Last night for the first time ever they closed Hwy 70 west of here (Wentzville is west of St Louis) to Kansas City (reopened this morning) - people about 15 miles west of us got 12", Columbia (where Mizzou is) got 16". I guess we should feel grateful! Bitter cold out now, and to get some horrendous winds but now all we have are tiny flurries. They closed SLU Monday afternoon; still closed. Dh was told to work from home yesterday and today; I chose to work from home yesterday (very nervous driving while sleeting all day!) and they closed work for the first time in 20 years. So I'm just doing what I can via email and VPN.

I'm between you and Sue - we got about 12-14" but with the wind there were drifts 3 feet and more. All the universities 'down state' are closed today and the major interstates in our area (39, 74, and 55) are still only open to emergency and IDOT vehicles. We also had 'thundersnow' last night - thunder and lightening during the blizzard. DH just showed ma

Actually here in WNY they had all these dire predictions, schools closed in advance- heck I even decided to take the day off as I didn't want to dig the car out at 6:00am and..... NOTHING! at least not anything we couldn't handle. Right now there is some light, fluffy type snow coming down a couple on inches maybe.

We had 12-13 inches of snow, which wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been blowing so hard!
