Hello to all my iVillage friends! I've been away for a while I know. But I've been busy.

In February I started a new job- still doing NYS WC Claims- but with a different company. I had been laid off from my old company (after 36yrs) and had to go job hunting! I was not looking forward to that but I got lucky- you see the Company I was with was laying off a number of us in stages - one of the guys that had left last October had inteviewed with a Company for an adjusters job but did not take the offer- but he contacted me about the position - so I went for it and was hired I left my old job on 2/11 and started my new job on 2/22! I am now in Downtown, Buffalo, which is different too after so many years but I am liking my new position! I like the work, I like the people so it all worked out for the best.

DH and I are still showing our dogs- we actually are doing more with them than before, we had a bit of a glitch this year because with my new job- I lost a lot of vacation time! but we're working around that. After 8/22 I am entitled to some vacation days so in October we are taking some time to drive down to PA for a big dog show & to see DD & DS . Erika and Tom still live and work in PA - Erika for Wegmans and Tom for AT&T. They visited us in June for a long weekend - had a good time! Erika wants to take us out to a good seafood place - supposedly she is learning to drive- that ought to be something!

Now in the evenings I have some extra time to come back & visit iVillage. Seems like not to long ago I was posting under Middle School, High School & College - all the drama and anxious times - yet it has all worked out. My kids are now young adutls (Erika turned 30 this year- yikes!!!) and doing well

Hi Foxymom! Great to see you back! I know what you mean - seems just yesterday that I discovered what used to be Parentsplace/Parentsoup when Jason was about 10 and now he's 24 and Justin is 21! Jason is at med school at Loyola, near Chicago. Justin is living at home right now and working full time - he's putting school on hold for now although of course dh and I both hope he goes back one day. How many dogs do you have? We had to put our beloved mutt down in May - one of the hardest things I've done. Although she was far from a show dog she was my sweet 'baby girl' and I still miss her.

Sounds like your boys are on track & doing ok like mine! I hope for all the best with Jason - does he know what branch of medicine he wants?
Justin will be fine too- Erika has talked about going back to school too- there is a CC right near where they live & she has looked into going back.
We now have 7 adult dogs at home - 1, Zelda, is the "queen" of the house - at 10 she has earned it!
Now that we have more time to travel about we are enjoying our dogs more- bought a mini-van - Tom teased that it seemed backwards to get a van after the kids left home. LOL

Rae turned 30 also, and I've been here since she was 14!!! And even tho I KNOW they're adults, I still think of them as kids. I guess that's because otherwise, I'd have to think of myself as OLD!
