Update - It's been awhile

Between all of the glitches with the new boards and the normal pain of posting with a tablet it's definitely been awhile ---- Nicki didn't get the full time job she wanted - they offered it to someone with more experience. However, between the prn job at the first place and the part time job at the second place she is working 40 hours per week and loving it. She's learning a lot at both places so hopefully that full time job will come her way eventually. Tim is still working at the shop where he was offered an apprentice type job in August - he got a dollar an hour raise in September and will get another dollar the first of December... which will have him a bit above the pay rate he was looking for in August. His buddy who told him he was a fool for taking the job at the lower rate is still flipping burgers for a living, having been unable to find a job in a shop that was up to his standards... and making quite a bit less than Tim is currently making. Justin has about four months left in his motorcycle tech program.... keeping our fingers crossed that he will find a job when he graduates. He's loving Florida, don't know if he's going to be coming back to Wisconsin-- he keeps flip-flopping on that account. Zack will be having knee surgery next month - he tore his ACL in Iraq last year. No war stories there. The guys were playing football in their off time and he took a bad fall. His brothers tell him that if he was going to get hurt over there he should have done something worthy of a purple heart.... I would rather he didn't get hurt at all. But he will get to come home on convalescent leave... which means he will be home for Christmas :-) :-) :-) We rarely hear from James these days... his woman keeps him under wraps pretty good. Hubby and I are pretty much unchanged... but really enjoying grand parenthood. Wyatt is growing like crazy and into everything. He exhausts us but we are sure gonna miss him when his mommy and daddy get their own place again. They are looking but not real set on moving til spring.

Glad you can finally post!  The football injury was a hoot!  Still can't stop laughing over that one.  I agree with the brothers - if you're going to get injured while on military duty - make it worthwhile - not during a football game.  Seriously, I hope the injury heals & the surgery goes smoothly.

Hey Rose! Great to 'see' you! Sounds like everything is going well in your neck of the woods. I do still want to get together but at this point it will likely be spring. Justin is pretty strongly considering joining the Army so if that happens I'll likely be turning to you for support!

It is still ridiculously difficult to access the boards, load a page, & read or post replies.  So glad to hear that everything is going well, Rose.  I know that you will miss Wyatt when the kids move out, but it looks like it might still be a little while yet.  Sounds like the nest is refilling!!!

Things going forward here as well.  Rae is doing a Masters program for Administration, while still working full-time.  She and Anthony will marry when she finishes.  They hope to be able to sell the townhouse by then, but if not, they'll rent it out, buy a house, & start on kids immediatly.  Lolo & Will are as "married" as they are ever going to be.  Lolo is still taking on-line classes for Health Information Technology, but her boss loves her, she makes good money, and he has been VERY nice about allowing her to change her schedule as needed, so I suspect she will not leave him.  I'm working 8-12 hours a week now, and if Will's mom or sister can't cover, Lolo goes in super early, and then is able to pick up Bree by 1:30, so I can be at work by 2.  *MY* boss is also very flexible, and just books up the hours I want to work.

DH will be managing a big project at University of Illinois Circle, & will not be traveling for the next 2 years, so we are making hay while he still has frequent flier points, and are going to Key West for a long weekend before Christmas.

Bree is beginning to cruise the furniture, and walking on her own won't be long now.  She is the apple of everyone's eye.  Spoiled?  Not if *I* can help it!!  Pic is her Halloween costume.

Only 1 stinkin file will attach at a time.  Here's Bree on her own 2 feet.

Bree is adorable. Wyatt was a Harley biker dude for Halloween - his uncle Justin was so proud. (Justin pretty much lives on his Harley)

Glad to hear Zach will be home for Xmas, Rose, even though the surgery might not be fun.  It sounds like everyone is doing well, and I hope it's not long before Nicki's 40 hrs are from one, full-time job so that they get the benes.

Wyatt is a cutie!  And sabr, so is your gd, Bree. I'm envious, and get to see my 4-mo.-old grand-niece only 1-2X/month.  Her mom, a SAHM,  has too many family and friends around and we've been traveling a lot this fall.

We're still waiting for our sons to have  solid, permanent relationships.  I think DS23 may end up marrying before DS29.  Over the holiday he mentioned that his gf has been looking at rings, which, of course, he has no money to buy.  He said he wants a decent job offer before he gets engaged--wise if he sticks with this gf who is from a pretty wealthy (and Republican, we thinkFrown) family.
