My sympathies... I was a hormonal basketcase while pregnant, so I dread what awaits me when our girls get pregnant! I do agree with your dh, though - do whatever calms her down in the minute (within reason - risking a heart attack in yesterday's weather is NOT within reason!). Trying to be rational with a pregnant woman in the middle of a hormonal swing is kind of like trying to reason with an alcoholic while they're drunk. It just won't work (and again, I say this from the point of the formerly pregnant crazy woman!). I did become much, much better in the middle and last trimesters, so there is hope. Months 4-8 were the best for me, and with luck that will be true for Lolo.
Hang in there, grandma, and try to be sympathetic. When my dds are being a little irrational, I find this works best on the phone, where I can roll my eyes at dh, shake my head, etc... while simultaneously clucking in sympathy and murmuring "I know, I know..." to the girl having the emotional drama of the moment. :)
Congrats to you, Sabr! I saw your news up above. I tell you what - the first time you see your child holding their child - there's just nothing like it. I hope for a healthy, unventful pregnancy for your dd! We're also having the same heat wave down here and even those of us that AREN'T pregnant are getting a bit cranky and moody. It's supposed to finally break tomorrow - hope so.
Oh, I feel for you and her! The heat certainly doesn't help anyone. If she wants to exercise, swimming is good, and ok to do in the heat. Other than that...if she is really worried about the weight, she should talk to her doctor. I know coming from you, it doesn't mean a thing (it never does when they are so close to us.) Remind her that breast feeding also helps immensely with the weight.
Last night, I finally managed to get thru to her that despite all the stuff she's read on line, the truest indicator of what was happening in HER pregnancy, was what had happened to the women in HER family.
LOL You have my sympathies Sabr!

Oh it's kind of funny--since it's not me.

Does your DD use iVillage at all? We have a Pregnant After a Loss board that might be helpful to her ~ http://forums.ivillage.com/ivillage/?category.id=iv-ppaftermisc
I hope that she has a healthy and happy pregnancy!
Thanks for sharing.
To Rose: Yep, it's cooler, but the price we paid was one heck of a storm.
