I thought that by the time my DS started college last fall we would be done with him growing taller.

My boys stopped growing by the time they were 16 or 17 but I've heard a few other moms talk about their ds's still growing a bit up until age 20 or so. I think it's less common for girls to still be growing at that age. Did your dh continue to grow in his late teens? Not sure if it's hereditary or not.

I think ds18 has gained about 1/2" (now almost 6'3") but has lost weight (now 150)...wish he'd gain weight!

@jlsjjsmom

My DH did grow in his late teens but not that much. He may have grown no more than a half an inch his freshman year in college but my DH's birthday is in December so if that happened, he was probably still 17.

@janetlz

Yes, my DS is 6'6" now or maybe even a bit taller than that. I was surprised at least as much as your were.

Being extremely tall can add some minor difficulties to life but my DS is not unhappy about being 2 inches taller. He's been tall his entire life so he's used to being tall. If anything he's happy about it.

Your neighbor grew 6 inches in college? I hope that doesn't happen to my DS. I feel short enough compared to him as it is. :)

She hasn't been measured lately, but I'm almost positive my youngest has either grown 1/2-1 inch since she started college in Aug, or her boyfriend has shrunk! She was 6 ft. tall when she started school and he is maybe 5'9". When they were home this weekend, I swear she looked even taller next to him than she used to. She's not happy with the idea that she might have gotten even taller.

@camomof2girls

I haven't measured my DS yet since I don't really want to know if he's even taller than 6'6".

My DS hasn't had any issues with being taller. He's used to being tall and being a man he doesn't have to worry about others considering him to be too tall (at least not yet).

Maybe we should introduce my DS to your DD. :)

@sabrtooth

I hope my DS doesn't continue to grow until 26. At least once he's out of college paying for new clothes because he outgrew the old ones will be his responsibility.
