Anyone's CS back to class this week?

When Jason was at WIU and Justin at UW-Platteville and the local CC they were on semesters so they had close to a month off - typically went back the week of Martin Luthur King Day. When Jason was at NU he was on trimesters so only had two weeks at Christmas, going back the Monday after New Year. Justin's buddy from across the street headed back to SIU Saturday, starting classes today. Anyone else's CS starting back this week? What does their class load look like?

Jordyn started back to school last monday. She didn't start back to her tutoring schedule until this week, so I am not sure of her full schedule yet, but for her regular classes, they are very similar to last semester schedule wise. She has Latin 102 Monday - Friday 9-10, T, Th 10-11:30 Chinese Art History, M, W F 12-1:30 Western European Art History, and she has an online astronomy class which I don't believe has any specific meeting times. And then she has her normal practice times sprinkled in there, they changed slightly from last semester, she has practice M, T, TH, and F 6-8:30 and T, Th weights from 4-6.

Yes; today started spring semester of senior year; he needs 15 hours to graduate.  He's got 6 classes (one is senior overview which is a show of work), none starting before 1pm so he's elated.  Four finish M-F from 1-5pm, and there's one Tuesday nights from 5:30-9:30. Hopefully will complete this; but he's not sure what he wants to do next...

DD started last week.  However, I got the bright idea to take a class, so I start tomorrow at our local CC.  Undecided

DD started back to class today (went back to campus on Saturday).  She changed majors *after* she had originally registered for this semester, so when she rescheduled classes, she did not get as good of a schedule.  She has no problem with early morning classes, and has only had a lab that went until 5:00 p.m. or so in the past.  This semester she'll have class until 6 once a week and 6:50 twice a week.  Her day is much more broken up with breaks.  She lives in the honors section of her dorm and they meet every night at 5:00 for dinner.  (There's a cafeteria in her dorm.)  So she's bummed that she'll miss the group dinner, but since this is her fourth semester, she should be more comfortable just eating wherever...whenever.  FIve o'clock dinner is awesome as a freshman when you don't know anybody yet!!

She was a biology major (pre-vet), but the org. chem. was killing her and she didn't like any of her science classes.  She's never been a science girl; she was just doing it to work with animals and make enough $$ to support herself.  So she decided that if she can't work with animals, she will work with children.  She's changed to Elementary Education.  She's actually great with kids, so I hope this ends up being a good fit for her.  She won't be able to take any more "fun" classes since Biology majors get into so much science so early on, and not much of it will count towards her new major.  She'll be hard pressed to finish in four years, but it supposedly is still possible.  We will see!

Amanda's first day was yesterday. It's always a good feeling when they call to gush over how much they love their class (literature class that ties in theater with teaching literature to high schoolers) At the end of Oct. she quit her job as an RA and moved back home to finish out the semester. I think she is happy to be back in her college town and not making the hour commute to go to class. She has her first day at her new job on Friday (Panera Bread...one of her favorite eateries!)

Senior DS starts classes next week but went back to his apartment yesterday so he has time to bake and have fun with friends before classes start.

Freshman DD doesn't start classes until Jan 27.  Her university has a winter term that runs in January, so they start later.

Both of them have crazy, crazy schedules.  DS has a double major, so he will have to write his anthropology thesis and also write a 40-page novella for English.  Besides his 4 classes, he also decided to take Russian 101 because "when else am I going to get to learn Russian?"  DD has a very similar schedule to last semester, 18 credits plus several hours a week of non-credit orchestra rehearsal.

I am quite proud of both of them for how well they did last semester.  I actually hope DD takes it a little easier and has more fun this semester; she is a little too serious and stressed all the time.  She came back on Sunday from a week in Paris with her jazz class and said, "I saw more of Paris in a week than I have in 4 months of living in NYC - I need to get out a lot more!"
