Interesting, but imo, the positive reinforcement of "dreams and goals", depending on the user population, could encourage MORE rash spending, rather than the wise pursuit of one's goals, especially if the goal-seeker withholds some information.

I didn't see this (we get the Tribune and the local paper), but it sounds very cool - and the write up was extremely positive! Your BIL also sounds like a very interesting person-

This sounds like a really neat site. I know that our Debt Support Group here at iVillage is similar to the forums they're discussing in the article. Of course there are people who stop by, excited to start on the road to financial freedom, only to fail for one reason or other, or to not come back to the board at all. But...there are also so many members there who use the forum as a support system and are wildly successful with it. I think the key factors are motivation, dedication, and support no matter what site you use.
