Amanda came home this afternoon for the weekend (her 18th b'day is Sunday) She visited with us for a bit, watched some shows I had on the DVR we had an early dinner and she laid down and closed her eyes for "just a minute mom" It's now 6 hrs later and she is still snoozing away. Must have alot of sleep to catch up on. She does crew for her college and they practice M-F 5:15-7:15 a.m. and Sat. 6:00-8:00. Those early mornings must be catching up with her. She got up about 3 hrs. into her marathon nap, stood up, looked at us and said "Do I have to write a 4 page paper or a 6 page one?" then laid back down and went back to sleep. We were cracking up! I'm glad she's getting a chance to recharge her batteries.

That is very early. I have been getting up at 6:15 now since DS is in high school and will sleep right through a very loud alarm & I know I'm tired on the weekend. I looked at the clock this am & it was 8:30 and I thought "I should get up soon" and the next thing I know it was 10:00. lol So I'm just as bad.

DD is in nursing & her long clinical day is Sunday and she had to be at the hospital at 6:30 and it's 45 mins. away--she is there until 7:00 pm and when she gets home, there is the sorority chapter meeting until 9:00. She said she was exhausted. Then one night she was up almost all night (3 hrs of sleep)doing HW. She was very happy that the other clinical day is like visiting nurse where she just goes w/ one nurse so they arranged to meet at 9:00.

She just started crew this year. She'll compete at the novice level. She was a huge theater kid through out jr. and senior high, but this past summer she got it in her head that crew sounded fun and she wanted to give it a try. It's intense, but she loves it! She gets up at 4:00, meets her carpool at 4:45 and is on the river by 5:15. I never realized just how physically demanding it is. In addition to actually rowing, they are running and in the gym alot.

She doesn't like cake, so I always make her giant chocolate chip cookie and decorate it. She's still deciding where she wants to go to dinner. She wants to watch the season premiere of Amazing race before heading back. Lucking she's only at 1.5 hrs. away.

Her roommates and friends baked her a cake and threw her a little surprise party on Thursday. She was thrilled. Homemade decorations never meant so much she said. I'm grateful that she has a good group of friends.
