For those CS that are far enough away that they aren't coming home, do you send a care package/easter basket?  What are some fun ideas you are doing or have done in the past?

The school contracts with some company to provide various goody baskets at finals time, which this year starts 4/24, right after Easter.  I ordered one for DD last year, but the oranges inside arrived moldy and juice was all over everything in the box.  The company was very good about a refund AND they sent another basket.  But I've decided to send my own finals baskets.

This semester since I was going to be at her school a couple of weeks before finals (I left last Friday, helping her to find an apartment), I took the basket myself to save on postage.  I also didn't want to send anything she couldn't consume within a couple of weeks or something she'd have to bring back home.  I included just a few things that she likes--Slim Jims, honey peanut butter crackers, animal crackers, Sour Patch candy and something else I don't remember.  I also included the note card the company included with their sales pitch.  She was thrilled.

That sounds like a great box! Jordyn still has 2 months left, so I put in a bunch of toiletries for her that she could use to finish up the quarter, shampoo and conditioner, package of Tide pods, the traditional easter candy she loves, a new dress for church, some springy nail polish colors, and a new ipod nano. The nano was a last minute addition and not normally a big expense I would do for easter, but she has had an ipod touch for 5 years that she bought herself and has used all the time. it is finally getting to the point where the volume doesn't work much and the home key barely works. She has an iphone, but uses the touch strictly for music with as much working out and traveling as she does, she doesn't want to drain her phone battery so much since a lot of days she's never back at her dorm to charge it.
