How much did you pay for gas today?

I feel lucky to have filled up for $3.029/gal for regular last Friday, I noticed on my way home last night it is up to 3.37!

By the way, why in the world, do we still use 9/10 of a cent? Like seeing $3.379 as being more below $3.38 than it really is?

I paid $3.69 on Monday and yesterday at the same place it was $3.75.

Hi Jean,

Looking at the prices of copper today.... wishing all the pennies in my jar were made out of copper!

Speaking of commodities.. I sure don't get the pricing of oil

I remember filling up for $.28 per gallon the first time I filled up. (started driving when I was 16 and I know it was in the dark ages...41 years ago:smileysad:).

Does anyone else remember what the cost of gas was when you started driving?

The pattern used to be: Prices were down from January-May, up from May-September, steady from October-November and down in December.

Now they're up from January-April, way up from April-May, incredibly up from May-September, dangerously up from September-November and slightly down in December.

Doesn't matter what's going on in the world, doesn't matter what the supply levels are, the prices keep going higher and higher.

Gas is 3.56 here.
I filled up today and used my 1.60 in fuel perks
from Shop N Save so I paid only 1.96 per gallon for around 11 gallons
and it was about 23.00 dollars.

I would've started in '75 and if I remember remotely correctly it was somewhere around $.30-.35 per gallon. Sigh.

Good memory, Elle! I sure don't remember what the price of gas was back when I was 16.

Speculation in the oil market is probably behind all the crazy price swings, just as it is likely responsible for the spike in food prices around the world.

Hi Sam,

Our first house payment was almost the same as yours! I still remember writing the checks for $208.47!

We bought a 1910 Queen Anne for 24k! Sure learned alot from her on plaster walls! Paint did not fill the cracks :smileyvery-happy::smileytongue::smileyvery-happy:

Wore the bottom right off my jeans roofing because I was too scared to stand up with the steep pitch so just scooted along :smileyvery-happy::smileytongue::smileyvery-happy:

ooo to be young and rich again!

Thought I would resurrect this thread... to find out what is up in your neighborhood. After I saw this headline in USAToday this morning Gas sales drop as prices rise and more

Saturday I paid $3.659...was over $63 to fill the tank! Sheesh.

Yes, we will drive to summer vacation in mid August. DS and his gf plan to get together over the summer a few times; Amtrak is cheaper than driving (300 miles from St Louis to Chicago) - and will probably get him the Student Advantage card to make it even less.

At the Gas City on the corner, it's 4.20 for regular.
