Sad that these kids even had to be told in the first place... Northwestern Urges Students Not to Wear Offensive Costumes October 27, 2010 7:37 AM | Despite their lofty SAT scores and sterling academic credentials, some Northwestern University students apparently need remedial instruction when it comes to selecting appropriate Halloween costumes. In an e-mail sent to the campus late Monday, Dean of Students Burgwell Howard warned against wearing racially or culturally insensitive costumes this weekend. He also discouraged "ghetto," "pimps and hos" and "gangsta" parties at the esteemed Evanston university. "Halloween is unfortunately a time when the normal thoughtfulness and sensitivity of most NU students can be forgotten and some poor decisions are made," Howard wrote http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/10/nu-students-told-not-to-wear-offensive-halloween-costumes.html anybody remember a few years back the uproar when Prince Harry wore an Afrika Korps nazi uniform to a party? There was a bunch of talk then about him missing his mother's sensitivity training... does the above give way to the same talk re: college students and parenting?

Hi teadrinker,

I believe from what I've seen in the news, NU sent the email to their community which to me means every one on a campus, profs and students. Guess NU has had multiple black faced Halloween costumes incidents..in years past...maybe Chicago
