Hello Everyone,

I have a question that I hope is appropriate for this board.

Are you asking would parents order muffins to be sent to their CS? I think that parents like to send "care packages" to their CS' and might be willing to pay somebody else to provide that service. Price point is probably very important, and being able to get the product to the recipient while still fresh and in good condition.

Do you live near a college campus? If so then it would probably help to make your business known to the Resident Life department. My CS' U had a listing of some local businesses that would deliver food etc to the dorms, if parents wanted to order a delivery. (If the campus food service provides anything like your muffin idea then they might not let you compete.) If you can get experience and good reviews locally you might be able to eventually expand to a larger service area.

I don't think that I would order something sent from a unknown company unless the company was based either in my city or near the campus.

Good luck!

Here, many universities have a service that parents can use to send their student fresh fruit and healthy snacks. They can also send them baked goods.

There's an art to sending baked goods, I sent my son a cake and the vibrations the box experienced during shipping well lets just say it was precut. But I do like the idea of sending something .

There IS an art to sending baked goods, but it is possible to get things across the country in good shape... heck, I've sent cookies, muffins, cupcakes and brownies to Iraq and Afghanistan and have them arrive in good shape.

I agree that it probably would work out best if you were near a college.
