DS21 just called to say he's been accepted at U of M's pharmacy school, where he just interviewed on Friday.

Congrats to him, and I KNOW this is a relief to you! Ask your tax person if your claiming him as a dependent has any bearing on his residency status. I would think, if you are supporting, or even co-signing, on an apt in Mi, having parents living in Va shouldn't matter.

Bravo to your boy!

I love schools who don't leave their students hanging with anxiety after an interview! Bravo to U of M too! Was it one of his interviewer's that called or the dean?

My youngest was denied residency in Texas even with him not being claimed as our dependent on our taxes for the past two year nor with him working/paying all his own utilites and working in TX for the past year. I hope the on going student status helps your boy!

How great a relief to be able to go to his next interview with an acceptance!

I kept telling my youngest ..you only need one! How cool too that he is coming home... planning on doing a happy dance when you see him?

Is he excited about this research side of pharm?

ps: no excuses for you not to hang out here for a couple more years with me!!:smileyvery-happy:

YAY!!! That is such great news. I also think it's amazing that they notify so quickly; how wonderful! I'm not looking forward to the "wait" again when the girls go to grad school... and it won't be long after that we'll be doing the undergrad search again for the boys. The waiting is the worst part!

Is UofM his first choice? Does it depend on the residency question?

Congrats to him!!

Theresa
