Our hang out

Thank you ALL for continuing to stop by our POCS board! I know there are a ton of problems with our board. I have the same ones! Not authorized to comment, constantly being sent back to the log in screen even after I have just posted, getting page not found errors, or just ivillage header and a white empty page? So I understand totally the limited ability to chat and support each other within the forum use of our board currently. I really appreciate everyone for sharing your family with me over the years and to continuing to take time out of your busy lives to go into this crazy ivillage loop to get to post here! The tech team is working on the issues. You know, I googled drupal and ivillage, a while back when they talked about changing our forums and NBC/ivillage was advertising for a position. ;) So looks like the team has a learning curve! We are being told the impact of merging old data to the new drupal set up has caused a bunch of issues. I don't know why 15 yer old data needed to be kept. I know some really want=need to have their post counts recognized, old threads with info/knowledge retained, I would have just moved ivillage forward, I would rather have a workable board in the here and now. Members today can always repeat the old wisdoms. HOWEVER, I'm not in charge. ;) If you have any problems or would like to email me your problems so I can pass them on: parentsofcollegestudents@gmail.com I will continue to be here on my sofa as long as I can log on too! Hang in there!

Hi there,

There is no new procedure, but we are experiencing a bit of a bug that is prompting some of our members to log in again after attempting to start a new thread.  We have found a bit of a workaround, however.  If you click on "See All Threads In This Board" and then attempt to start a new thread, you should be able to successfully post.  Please know that our tech team is aware of the issue. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused!
<<<<<the above quote is Courtesy of a posters question on the help board. I can not get anywhere with the see all threads in this board link. I am on an iPad or mobile phone so don't know if others can use this workaround.

Below will be the ivillage forum's administrator's post from yesterday. Not entirely good news. Pray they don't pull the plug on WED morning. ============================ Cdjessica Administrator Posts: 157 Registered: 07-13-2011 Send PM Latest Update - 12-10-12 7 23 HOURS AGO Hi, everyone. I know I haven't posted an update in quite some time. Unfortunately, there's not much to report. Here's why: When the boards started experiencing slowness -- pages taking forever to load, pages timing out and failing, etc. -- that became the top priority for the tech team. Shortly after they started investigating, it was brought to our attention that the slowness on the boards was slowing down the rest of the site as well. What started out as a message boards fix turned into a site-wide fix, with many more moving parts to take into account. They're still working on these issues, including the login & posting failures. (The two issues are related, turns out.) One small fix did go through though -- they raised the character limit for signatures from 255 to 1000. I bet many of you have seen signatures showing up again?  I'm getting an update from the tech team about the login/posting bug this morning, and I'm meeting with the higher-ups (all of them) at iVillage on Wednesday. We need a final solution to all of the issues we're having -- everyone here agrees on this. We can't keep going the way we are, and we know it. Should be an interesting meeting! Thanks! Jess
