2 out of 3 auditions completed.
Auditions can be very stressfull--I feel for your dd.
Congrats to your dd on the scholarships, and completing her auditions! I remember the audition stress well with both girls doing music. Thank goodness (for my mental health, lol) that ds11 plays bass in orchestra- not a very competitive instrument compared to voice, cello and violin (the girls' picks).
I second Sabr's thought that a big school can feel intimate, at least once you're in. Dd19 is at a very big school (IUBloomington) and has friends at Jacobs, which has the second-largest enrollment of any music school, in the middle of a big Ten campus. Once you're in, it really feels like a family- most music majors are in the same dorms, have their classes together, etc. Dd is in the honors college, and it's similar- you find your small niche. She has many friends in music, some at small schools like Simpson College (specializing in opera) and some at medium ones like Belmont in Nashville or Roosevelt or Depaul here,
How did the final audition go?
Is your dd getting more of a feeling about which school she would like to attend?
Well- she wasn't really stressing for the last audition.
