Lucky me because I live in PA. Actually I already suspected that and that is part of why ds is going to CO for school - there isn't much difference in the price. I kept listening to the media coverage of the tuition increases in California and thinking "big deal, we are already paying more than that.". Ds may be going out of state, but I have a daughter who likely will stay in-state.

I remember when $2,500 in student loans/year, a good summer job, and a part time job on campus was enough to pay for college. I had friends that were able to work their way through without any parental support. Now I think that is impossible. My mom graduated from Ohio State in 1943. She told me that OSU was free when she went. Hard to believe!
