Are any of our seniors talking about what they're going to do after college?

DS has decided he wants to go for a PhD.  I'm not surprised; he has a lot of intellectual curiosity. Last semester he was saying he needed a break from academia and said he wanted to take a year off and woudln't take the GRE, but by the end of the semester he'd changed his mind.  He took the GRE in January and did very well, but the application for PhD programs needed to be done by the end of December, so he missed the chance to start this fall.  However, he applied to a Master's program in South America, where he did field work last summer and will be doing more again this summer.  The plan is to apply to American PhD programs while he's there and hope that his Master's work plus his field work makes him an attractive candidate.  Fingers crossed.

Good luck to all the graduating seniors, especially those hoping to enter the job market.  And congrats to all the parents out there who went through it with them!

Wow - very cool.  DS21 - nope; he's now thinking he may not want to teach art, at least not 'right away' (I told him it's not an option for a couple of years til he'd have the MAT anyway).  I'm hoping he sticks with the plan and goes for the MAT at his current U, which has 8 week sessions 5x/year, and 2 classes are considered FT, and they're at night. He wants a 'gap year' - I told him to take one class the first session and work or do an internship during the day and just keep it going...  He's not sure yet.  Hoping he gets some guidance or inspiration this semester...
