Glad all are well. I remember, the year my parents died, earlier that year I told my dad I felt so bad because when I left (at 22 to go to grad school at UIUC) I never considered how they felt - he said that was ok; that's what was supposed to happen. But being in that situation on the parent end now, it sure isn't easy!

Glad they are safe and praying tthat there is no aftershock.

From the video of the tsunami it looks like anyone in its path didn't have a chance.

Glad that the girls' SM is OK as well as Cheryl's future DSIL. One of Jason's high school classmates lives in Japan where he teaches English - they aren't really in touch any more and I've not heard anything but I've been thinking of him today.

Hi Theresa,

My prayers ascend for your daughter's stepmother and students. How scary for them to know their siblings are in Japan.

My boys have traveled, I did not hear from them until they were stuck in the airport. I tried to do the no news is good news mantra. Then you see these kind of disasters or the SDSU student found dead in Madrid and worries spring up.

Even as camp counselors I worried!
