Oh that's scary! The roads here have been terrible for the last few days. I'm sure your heart was just in your throat as you watched everything happened. I'm so glad that she seems headed for a full recovery!

We watched our dog jump right in front of a car many years ago after he escaped through the open door and it was absolutely horrible...and then he raced back to our front door and just cowered. He was SO lucky, just grazed. I think it gave him a healthy fear of cars, though - stuck around the house a long time! I hope your dog ends up being OK and learned from her experience too!

I KNOW how scared you were. I would have just about died. Marco used to be a car chaser, and a deer chaser. Since we don't have fences here, that could be quite a problem, so, Dh put him in his harness (NOT a collar) , and took him out with about a 20 foot rope on it, and then stood back far enough that when Marco took off, he wouldn't reach the street, but WOULD get yanked off his feet. As soon as he hit the wall, we'd SCREAM "Marco, STOP". After about 10 tries, he skidded to a stop as soon as we yelled. ( I should have done that with my kids, too.)

How scary, Rose! That was my fear with Buffy, too. I never trained her well enough to go out and do her business and come back in so she always had to be on a leash or tie out. She did get out a few times and I was scared that she'd get hit. I saw a dog get run over by a moving van when I was a kid and it was awful. I'd give anything to have my 'furbaby' back, though, even the taking her out in the cold and snow :(

Glad Missy is doing better, Rose, and that she had no broken bones.

Our Buffy was a Husky Mix - I miss her every day - all 65 pounds of her. I don't think we'll get another any time soon but if we do we'll probably go for something smaller....
