The POCS board is a lot like the CHEERS show, where most everyone knows your name.

tell one fact about yourself to promote this knowledge. I will start~ add more as you like but ONLY one at a time;

I know that Montreal is having a lot of problems maintaining businesses because of some of its language laws. I am aware that a lot of businesses have relocated to Toronto. I am Jewish and I know that Montreal used to have a huge Jewish population. I believe that is changing. I remember several years ago the Jews in Montreal had a tough time getting kosher foods shipped to Montreal because the labels were only in Hebrew not French. I also read the globe and mail on line and a couple years ago I got a laugh reading an article about a bagel bakery in Montreal. The bakery had been fined because the "language" police caught them greeting patrons with hello before they said bonjour. My BIL is French Canadien and he says that the French speakers are biting off their noses despite their faces.

As for the food we fell in love with the baked goods. In philadelphia We can't get a fresh baked bread that comes close tom the ones in Quebec.

This is a fun read.
Can we keep the facts coming?

The crazy Florida kids with gunswho were chased across the country and arrested in CO ...the oldest, the sis, lived on our island.

My son goes to Colorado next week so I was happy that they caught them before he got there.

Going backwards doesn't bother me too much, except when DH suddenly stops and says, " Wait, there's a pillar", lol.

Ok, as long as we're doing odd ones - in '85 (had been here a year) I got asked to be on a jury for a man accused of killing his son.

Ooooo, don't think I'd like jury duty for a murder trial. Not sure I want to look it up....sounds creepy.

The only time I served was for an insurance company vs. the owner of a bar/restaurant.

You know not anymore. Things in the province are getting much better now that people truly understand that it is a French province. 80% are French,only about 9% are English, the rest are other languages.

Funny...

My FIL was called to jury duty. Couldn't do it because he died six months earlier. It was rather funny filling out the reason why.
