This has nothing to do with college students but since there are so many active members here I figure that some of you might have this kitchen tool. (although maybe it could be a good gift for some of our CSs) Elle, hope you don't mind!
I'm thinking about asking dh for a stick blender for Christmas but know I'd better do some research first. I'm seeing that there are so many things to consider: corded vs cordless, weight and length, various attachments, power and number of speeds, plastic vs metal gears, lots of brands and price points.
Initially I was thinking of using one mainly to puree soups in the pot and maybe to make some smoothies. But it looks like the ones with attachments can replace a handheld mixer for making batters, whipping cream etc (I do not have a stand mixer) and some of them are good for chopping onions etc too.
If anyone can give me any advice, personal experience, or recommendations I'd really appreciate it.
